The 1,000-foot long Ribbon is a paved, loop trail that is refrigerated in winter to provide 25,000-square-feet of ice skating surface with rolling hills and soft curves. It includes a 5,000-square-foot ice skating area called the Pond that is suitable for beginning skaters and events.

Experience the perfect blend of curling and bocce ball on the ice at The Ribbon. Bocce on Ice is a fun, winter-ready activity for all skill levels, and a great option for those who don’t ice skate. Advanced Reservations required.

Instead of rolling bocce balls, players slide curling-style Dysks toward a puck target (called the Jack). Teams take turns aiming for the puck, scoring points based on how close they get. The first team to 12 points wins!

Kick off the holiday season in downtown Toledo as Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz lights the Promenade Park Holiday Tree at 7 p.m.

Join us for an evening full of festive fun, live entertainment, and activities for the whole family. The park will sparkle with holiday lights, laughter, and the sounds of the season — a perfect way to celebrate community and togetherness in the heart of the city.

We are lighting up the park with our annual tree lighting in Hensville Park on Saturday, November 22! We'll have live music, drinks, Santa Claus, circus performers, and more.

Fleetwood's Tap Room will be open to the public during this event for regular service, featuring holiday beers and cocktails.

The annual Dave’s Turkey Chase 5K, presented by First Solar, is the ideal Thanksgiving Day family fun run/walk. With media sponsor WTOL 11 in Downtown Toledo, the event also includes a one-mile walk, a kids run, and a virtual option — all to benefit Cherry Street Mission Ministries.

The 5K event starts right in front of the Glass City Center, heads past 5/3 Field, onto Huron St., passing by the Huntington Center, and continues across Cherry St, then back onto Summit St. to the finish in front of the promenade park just shy of the Glass City Center.

Experience the magic of the season at Holidays at The Ribbon, Toledo's newest holiday tradition at Glass City Metropark. From Friday, December 19 through Saturday, January 3, skate beneath sparkling lights and festive holiday decor while holiday music sets the mood. Enjoy extended hours -- open daily 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. -- for an unforgettable winter outing.

All sessions are at least 2 hours with a 30 minute ice resurfacing break in between (10 a.m. to 12 p.m. | 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. | 3 to 5 p.m. | 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. | 8 to 10 p.m.). Admission is $10 + $2 for skate rentals.
