Locally loved and world-renowned, the Toledo Museum of Art has earned a global reputation due the quality and rarity of its collection. So it’s appropriate that one of the world’s finest museums, and its more than 30,000 works of art, rests in one Toledo’s most historic neighborhoods––the Old West End.
The Old West End (OWE) is a sort of museum in its own right. Spreading across 25 city blocks with iconic architecture styles from Colonial to French Second Empire dotting the streets, the OWE is perhaps best known as one of the country’s largest standing collection of late Victorian homes. Once every year, the OWE hosts a celebration of art and heritage known as the Historic Old West End Festival. It’s here that the community comes together to showcase how Toledo’s history is defining its future.
