The Blarney and Historic Church of St. Patrick team up for Easter food blessing
Ed Beczynski, owner of The Blarney, and Reverend Monsignor Christopher P. Vasko, pastor of downtown’s The Historic Church of St. Patrick’s, are teaming up to continue Historic St. Pat’s traditional Easter food blessing. On Holy Saturday, April 11, 2020, Monsignor will be present curbside at The Blarney and will perform a food blessing for meals either purchased from The Blarney or food baskets that are brought curbside from the community.

Downtown Children's Discovery Center Presents Mayor Kapszukiewicz with Key to City
The students at Children’s Discovery Center (CDC) created and presented a special gift for special guest, Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz. With the help of their teachers, the children made a clay mold and used resin to make Mayor Kapszukiewicz his very own key to the city. The key was meant to honor his dedication to early childhood education. In 1996, CDC founder Lois Rosenberry was gifted a key to the city by then mayor, Carty Finkbeiner.

Big Ten Gymnastics Comes to Downtown Toledo with Elevate the Stage
We are flipping out! Okay, not really, but there is a gymnastics tournament taking over downtown! Elevate the Stage is a podium-style gymnastics competition that features athletes from all over the country and NCAA teams from the Big Ten.
