Rocket Tailgate and Pep Rally

 

Levis Square Park turns Midnight Blue & Gold on Thursday, August 30th at noon. Mayor Kapszukiewicz, President Gaber and Coach Candle will pump up the crowd in anticipation of the first game of the season on Saturday, September 1st vs Virginia Military Institute. Antony Bellino will host. The U.T. pep band will play, and the cheerleaders will get the crowd fired up. Come toss a football with the players and play around with Rocky and Rocksy. Last Born Sons will entertain the crowd before and after the pep rally. The park is also being decorated with yarn bombs, chalk artist and the fountain colors will change to blue and gold.
 

The Pop-Up Pep Rallies return on Friday night as the U.T. Marching Band takes to the streets of downtown. This has turned into a fan favorite as the band makes their appearance in various restaurants. The Pop-Up schedule is:
 

9:15 p.m.       PizzaPapalis

9:30 p.m.       Ye Olde Durty Bird

9:45 p.m.       Cock N’ Bull

10:00 p.m.     The Blarney

Dozens of flags have been distributed throughout downtown and our businesses want to join in the fun also,” says Cindy Kerr, Vice President of ConnecToledo and coordinator of the rallies.
